Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature that will allow users to send voice notes with View Once mode. It is expected that this feature will give better privacy to the users.
According to well-known WhatsApp tipster publication WABetaInfo, the messaging platform is rolling out a feature for some beta testers on Android and iOS that will allow users to set View Once mode on voice notes. For this, WhatsApp may include a new View Once icon with a lock during recording in the chat bar.
View Once mode will be so beneficial for voice notes :
When you click this icon, the voice note will likely be shared in View Once mode, so the recipient won't be able to export, forward, save, or record it.
Enabling “view once” mode when sending a voice note will ensure that once dismissed, neither the sender nor the receiver can hear it again, thereby enhancing privacy and security for sensitive and confidential information and preventing misuse or abuse. Playback will be paused again.
