Google is shutting down Gmail's feature, you will not be able to access it from 2024

Google is preparing to eliminate another feature of its service. The company has announced that the basic HTML view of Gmail will be discontinued from January 2024. For those who don't know, Gmail's basic HTML view allows users to view their emails without any hassle. This feature of Gmail is more than 10 years old. But, now after years this feature is being discontinued.

Google has updated its support page, so that Gmail will automatically switch to standard view after the deadline. The company has also sent a notification email to Gmail users to inform them about this.

The company wrote in the email, 'Gmail Basic HTML view for desktop web and mobile web will be disabled starting January 2024.'

When users try to use the HTML version, Google displays a message stating that the version is designed for 'slow connections and older browsers' and asks you to confirm that you are using the standard version. Don't want to use.

These facilities are not available

Many features like chat, spell checker, search filter, keyboard shortcuts and rich formatting are not available in the HTML version. However, it is useful in situations where you are in an area with low connectivity or just want to view emails without any additional features. At present, it is not yet clear whether Google is planning to add another mode for low connectivity.

Google had also recently announced the closure of Google Podcasts. Last week, Google announced that it will shut down its collaborative whiteboarding app, Jamboard, at the end of 2024.
